Terminology

Words mean things, but they often mean different things to different people. This is especially true if words are purposely use to manipulate people rather than to communicate with them. The world-system of the twenty-first century has developed a new culture and a new religion that uses words to manipulate human thought hoping to discourage honest analysis. The invention of the internet and social media has given rise to not only virtual worlds but also "virtual language" - a language with fluid definitions.  And, social platforms are constantly inventing new words packed with presuppositions and subtrafuge.

Therefore, it is very important for Christians of this time period to understand how language is used in the world-system (especially in screen-thing) to manipulate thought. This section of the site will help you to understand the philosophy of language in two ways. First, it will introduce and define important terminology that will help you better understand the concepts of the Christian life. Second, the words and phrases used on this site will be compared and contrasted with language used by the world-system. By making these comparisons, you will be able to study the effect of language on the human mind and understand how it has been used by world-system philosophy (especially Post-Modern Philosophy) - to create a new cultural mindset.

Definition of Terms Used on This Site

Christian Philosophy is a philosophical system that evaluates truth with the reference points of scripture and the life of Christ.

CIP defines religion as the belief system a person uses to build their normalized world.  It is a mistake to think that a religion must have a god.  Taoism, original Buddism, and Confucianism are considered religions and yet profess no god.  CIP posits that a person's religious beliefs are those principles and beliefs that have been adopted in ones life to normalize existence and make us feel relatively safe, in control, and meaningful.

Virtualism

CIP defines Virtualism as a new religion created by the combination of existential emptiness and the virtual world of the internet.  Existential emptiness is a result of a realistic assessment of human existence.  This can only be done through Christ.  With the collape of Christian culture in the west an intense religious void has been created in the lives of people.  This void is now being filled by a virtual world of the screen - television, phone, I pad, and social media.  Virtualism creates hedonic and narcissistic mindsets (normalized bubbles of life) that allow a person to divert attention away from real life (the reality without electricity), and enter a world of virtual truth.  This virtual truth can be molded and changed at will, and keeps a person from developing a mature sense of the real physical world.   (The world that still exists when the electicity goes off.)  Virtualism exploits the moral weakness of humanity by creating new moral systems seemingly without consequences.  It is a type of anesthesia which answers no questions, and allows people to feel no spiritual pain and live in a fantasy world where they can runout the clock in a virtual world - with virtual experiences - creating virtual minds, and virtual people.  Virtualism is food without taste, fire without heat,  and life without pain.  And, it all disappears when lightning strikes your transformer.

Old Man Sturctures

The structures of life you have constructed on your own without the influence of the Holy Spirit.  Old Man life structures are based in world-system philosophy and are a result of your circumstance, the philosophies of your parents, school, - and most of all -  the movies and social media you have incorporated into your life.

World-system

The world-system is used on this site to mean a system of philosophical thought that originated with Satan (note Isaiah 14).  It is hostile to God and hates those who follow God.  It portrays itself as objective but is nothing of the sort.  It has a strong bias against God and seeks to develop systems of economics, philosophy, education, entertainment, and self analysis that exclude God.

Compassionate Darkness

CIP defines Compassionate Darkness as the offering of sympathy by the world-system that ultimately creates a darkness in life rather than an anwser of light and blessing.  It feels very good to a person who is hurting to have a group hug as the Titanic goes down, but there is no thought of grabbing a life preserver.  At any given time, the world-system may seem to have more sympathy and compassion than Christians, but the compassion eventually turns into darkness and loss of hope.  Watch out for people who offer compassion without God.  The end result will be darkness and death without hope.
"Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled.  This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow."  Isaiah 50:11
Compassionate Darkness is trying to care about others in the light of human sympathy and caring, rather than the light of God.  It always ends up in sorrow and darkness.
